After talking to a few privates after our last training, it has come to my attention that many would like a few tweaks to our mission settings and difficulty. The main suggestions I received were as follows:

  1. Remove the ability to use the 3rd person camera
  2. Remove the ability to see enemy positions on map after they are spotted
  3. Remove the ability to place nav marker on map

These are just a few suggestions that I want to put to a poll.

THIS IS IN NO WAY AN OFFICIAL POLL BUT SIMPLY TO SEE THE UNITS OPINIONS ON THESE SUGGESTIONS.

I'd love to remove the ability to place nav marker and enemy position.

My issue with removing 3rd person is I have bad motion sickness in first person even with head bob all the way off.

Same with me. If we remove 3rd person I will have to leave the unit.

I think 3rd person is essential since an Arma character cannot do everything a normal soldier can do and it balances it out.

If we don't use Nav Markers, we have to start teaching 8 digit grids then, especially to the PLs, SLs, RTOs, JFOs, and JTACs. We could also use a 6 digit grid with a keypad code, though this is not realistic.

Bringing this back up again, what about a modified 3pp? Like they use on life servers, something over the shoulder.

removing 3rd person has pros and cons. pros its more immersive for ground and air but if u want to play first person take it upon yourself to play in first person. cons are for air it would be hard to land and transport cargo because pilots cant see there wheels unless the heli has mirrors and not many modded helis have that, so it would require a full/partial crew to do said things (unless there's mirrors) but the rest go for it

  • 3rd person should probably stay. I use it to monitor formations in garrison and driving. Combined with hearing about motion sickness, it's one of those things that if you don't like it, don't use it. Flying? Good luck with that. We already crash enough birds as is...  <_<  ;)
  • *** Removing enemy markers (my vote) keeps me honest and from cheating. If I open the map and see red marks, I know that information. I can't pretend I don't.
  • Not placing map markers, to me, would be extremely inconvenient. I use them to keep things organized for the joes. We aren't up to that kind of level with map reading nor will we ever be.
